Sarcastic Swipes: Shreemayee and Elina’s Savage Strikes on Sycophants
Former Leaders Shreemayee Mishra and Elina Dash Publicly Criticize BJD Brass After Nuapada Loss
Former Leaders Criticize Party Brass on Social Media
Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is facing renewed internal unrest as former stalwarts Shreemayee Mishra and Elina Dash publicly criticized the party leadership over the disappointing third-place finish in the Nuapada by-election. Their scathing social media posts have highlighted divisions within the party and raised questions about its revival strategy.
Shreemayee Mishra Targets V.K. Pandian and Candidate Selection
In a fiery video post, Shreemayee Mishra accused V.K. Pandian and his team of contributing to the electoral debacle. She particularly singled out BJD’s Nuapada candidate Snehagini Suri, calling her a michheyi pardeshi (fake outsider) for failing to mobilize women voters in any constituency.
Mishra questioned the party’s strategy, stating:
“If you cannot attract women in even a single block, how can you aspire for state women’s leadership? What a mockery!”
She further described Pandian as a man who parachuted outsiders into the constituency, undermining the efforts of party loyalists and putting pressure on Naveen Patnaik. Her call to arms urged BJD supporters to rally and revive the party by addressing these internal missteps.
Elina Dash Criticizes Senior Leadership Over Campaign Conduct
Estranged Youth BJD General Secretary Elina Dash also went viral with her criticism of senior leaders Debiprasad Mishra, Pranab Prakash Das (Bobby), Arun Sahu, and Sanjay Dasburma. Dash mocked their actions during the campaign, including gestures such as “mutton-cooking” efforts by Arun Sahu, questioning whether their antics helped the party or merely added strain on Naveen Patnaik.
Her statement suggested that senior leadership mismanaged both mental and physical demands on the party chief during the campaign, ultimately failing to translate efforts into electoral success.
BJD Leadership Maintains Silence Amid Uprising
The BJD high command has remained silent in response to these criticisms. Political analysts suggest that the public airing of grievances by former leaders signals growing factional tensions within the party.
As BJD contemplates its post-election strategy, the question remains: Will the party be able to manage these internal conflicts and restore unity ahead of future polls?
