Youth Held from Unit-6 Area Under Sedition Charges

A suspected terror operative has been arrested from the Unit-6 area under Capital Police Station limits in Bhubaneswar. The arrest was carried out by a special team of the Delhi Police Special Branch in connection with alleged anti-national activities and suspected links with Pakistan-based networks.

The accused, identified as Sheikh Imran, was detained late at night and later produced before the SDJM court in Bhubaneswar. Following legal formalities, he was taken to Delhi on transit remand for further interrogation.

Arrest Linked to Social Media Activity and Foreign Connections

According to sources, the accused had come under the radar of investigating agencies due to his suspicious activities on social media. He was allegedly posting provocative and anti-national content and was in contact with Pakistan-linked entities.

Investigators have also found that he had been receiving funds from various sources, raising further suspicion about his involvement in unlawful activities.

Stayed in Bhubaneswar for Months

Imran, a native of Cuttack, had been living in a rented house in a slum area of Unit-6 in Bhubaneswar for the past few months. During this period, he is suspected to have carried out activities linked to anti-national propaganda through digital platforms.

Possible Links to Explosion Cases Under Probe

Sources indicate that the arrest may be connected to ongoing investigations into explosion incidents, including one near Delhi’s Red Fort. There are also indications that his role in the recent explosion in Sundarpada is being examined, which is currently under investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Authorities believe that the arrest may have helped avert a potential major incident in Bhubaneswar.

Multi-Agency Investigation Underway

A special team of Delhi Police had been conducting investigations in Bhubaneswar before making the arrest. Following the detention of several suspects in Delhi in recent days, new leads have emerged, prompting agencies to expand their probe.

Officials suspect that Imran may have been part of a larger conspiracy against the country. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether he was acting alone or had links with other individuals or groups.

Security agencies continue to monitor the situation closely as more details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
