Uma Bharti Slams Politicians’ Lavish Weddings Fuelled by Black Money

Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Uma Bharti has criticised politicians for holding extravagant weddings, alleging that black money is often used to fund such opulent events. Speaking at a public function in Madhya Pradesh, Bharti condemned the flamboyant displays, calling them a betrayal of public trust and an affront to India’s cultural heritage.

“Politicians are holding weddings where they waste unaccounted crores. This is not only morally wrong but also a silent insult to the poor,” Bharti said, urging a return to simpler celebrations.
She highlighted how excessive spending on locations, star performers, and lavish dowries alienates the public from their leaders, particularly when many Indians struggle to meet basic needs.
