Over 11 Lakh Devotees Have Visited Kedarnath This Year

The pilgrimage has witnessed an overwhelming response this year. According to official figures, more than 11 lakh devotees have already visited the Kedarnath shrine since the opening of the temple doors for the 2026 Char Dham Yatra season.

Following the resumption of the pilgrimage, over 10,000 pilgrims departed from Sonprayag and Gaurikund towards Kedarnath, reflecting the strong spiritual significance of the shrine among devotees from across the country.

Bad Weather Had Temporarily Halted the Pilgrimage

The Kedarnath region has been experiencing persistent rainfall and unfavorable weather over the past few days. As a precautionary measure, authorities temporarily halted the movement of pilgrims at several locations on Friday to ensure their safety.

District administration officials stated that the safety and well-being of pilgrims remain the top priority. Pilgrims were accommodated at secure locations while weather conditions were closely monitored.

Police personnel, disaster management teams, and other concerned departments have remained on high alert to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience.
