Three COVID-19 Cases Detected in Ganjam; One Patient Under Treatment at MKCG Medical College
Health officials confirm three COVID-19 cases in Ganjam, including one patient undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College, while assuring the public that all cases are stable and the situation remains under control.
After the recent detection of a COVID-19 patient at Berhampur’s MKCG Medical College and Hospital, health authorities have confirmed three new COVID-19 positive cases in Ganjam district, prompting renewed public attention. However, the Odisha Health Department has urged people not to panic, stating that the situation remains fully under control.
According to the Director of Public Health, two of the infected persons are recovering in home isolation, while one patient is undergoing treatment in hospital. Officials said the hospitalized patient is in stable condition and is being monitored by doctors.
The Health Department emphasized that there is no serious COVID-19 situation in Odisha at present. Most recent infections have been limited to mild symptoms such as fever, cough and cold, and no signs of severe illness have been reported in the newly detected cases.
Authorities have appealed to the public not to believe rumours and instead remain cautious by following basic health precautions. People experiencing symptoms have been advised to get tested and seek medical consultation when necessary.
COVID-19 Patient Admitted at MKCG Hospital
Meanwhile, a female patient has tested positive for COVID-19 at the Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. She has been admitted to the hospital’s dedicated isolation ward, where she is receiving treatment under the supervision of medical specialists.
Hospital authorities said the patient’s condition is stable and she is not showing any severe symptoms. Doctors are conducting regular health assessments and providing treatment as per standard clinical protocols.
MKCG Hospital Superintendent said there is no reason for public concern, adding that all necessary precautions and treatment arrangements are in place.
The Odisha Health Department has also confirmed the case. Health Department Special Secretary Prof. Dr. Santosh Kumar Mishra urged citizens to remain vigilant without panicking.
The department has advised people to continue following basic preventive measures, including frequent hand hygiene, exercising caution in crowded places, and consulting doctors promptly if COVID-like symptoms develop.
Health officials reiterated that awareness and timely precautions, rather than fear, remain the most effective way to deal with COVID-19.
