Odisha Conducts 16th Job Fair, 1,326 Receive Government Appointment Letters

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday distributed appointment letters to 1,326 newly recruited candidates across nine government departments during the 16th Job Fair held at the Bhubaneswar Railway Auditorium.

With the latest recruitment, the state has provided 45,408 government jobs since June 2024, the Chief Minister said.

The new recruits include 364 Junior Engineers in the Housing and Urban Development Department, 361 Junior Engineers in the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, 12 Junior Engineers and 228 trainees under the Energy Department and OHPC, 118 Assistant Agriculture Officers, 111 Assistant Professors, 15 Junior Engineers and 71 Livestock Inspectors, 26 Junior Coaches, 10 trainers and 10 Excise Sub-Inspectors.

Addressing the newly appointed employees, Majhi said success in government service is not measured by designation but by the positive change an employee brings to citizens’ lives. He urged them to listen respectfully to people’s grievances and work towards resolving them within a stipulated time.

The Chief Minister said Odisha is witnessing increased industrial activity, with around ₹21 lakh crore in investments attracted over the past two years, potentially creating 20 lakh employment opportunities.

He also said recent roadshows in New Delhi and Noida resulted in 38 MoUs involving investments of ₹66,392 crore and the potential creation of 54,135 jobs.

Majhi said the state is now witnessing “reverse migration” and is working towards building a prosperous Odisha by 2036 and making the state a growth engine of a developed India by 2047.

He also advised the new recruits to stay away from corruption and discharge their responsibilities with honesty, discipline and a strong spirit of public service.
