Special Rituals for Speedy Recovery

Special religious rituals were performed at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Varanasi and the famous Somnath Temple in Gujarat for the speedy recovery and long life of Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar. Machchhar was seriously injured during a mid-air cockpit incident aboard Flydubai flight FZ1073.

At Kashi Vishwanath Dham, 21 scholars performed Rudrabhishek, while 11 scholars chanted the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra 100,000 times, praying for the pilot’s recovery. A photograph of Captain Machchhar was also placed during the prayers.

Special Prayer During Ganga Aarti

A special prayer for Machchhar’s recovery is also scheduled during the Ganga Aarti at Lalita Ghat in Varanasi. Devotees are expected to pray for his speedy recovery and long life.

The religious ceremonies come amid widespread public support for Machchhar following the Flydubai incident. He was seriously injured after an alleged confrontation with his co-pilot but helped enable passengers and crew to intervene before the aircraft made a safe emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

Mahamrityunjaya Chanting at Somnath

At the Somnath Temple in Gujarat, special Mahamrityunjaya Mantra chanting was also organised for Captain Machchhar. The temple trust and devotees prayed for his good health and complete recovery.

Pilot Remains Stable

Captain Machchhar is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Tabuk. The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia said he is in stable condition and that officials are closely monitoring his health while remaining in contact with his family.

The prayers at the two prominent Jyotirlinga temples reflect the widespread wishes for the pilot’s early recovery following the high-profile aviation incident.
