Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, joined by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and other leaders of the INDIA Alliance, launched a vote rights yatra in Bihar. The campaign aims to raise awareness about electoral malpractices and highlight the importance of protecting voting rights ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

Sharp Attack on BJP and Nitish Kumar Government

Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government and the Nitish Kumar-led state government, accusing them of prioritizing corporate interests over public welfare. He said that unemployment has reached alarming levels, threatening the future of the youth, while the government has turned a blind eye to the struggles of ordinary citizens.

Concerns Over Education, Jobs, and Inflation

Highlighting the plight of students, Gandhi pointed to repeated exam paper leaks in NEET, SSC, and other recruitment tests, which he claimed are destroying the futures of lakhs of aspirants. He also criticized the government for failing to control rising inflation, increased taxation, and lack of accountability in the wake of railway accidents and collapsing infrastructure.

Nitish Kumar Responds with Strong Words

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, in a post on social media platform X, questioned the legitimacy of the government, asking: “Can a government that arrived by stealing votes ever work for the people?” He asserted that the people no longer trust this government and are being ignored on real issues.

Call for Free and Fair Elections

Rahul Gandhi urged citizens to vote for a government that truly represents them and remains accountable. Stressing that a clean voter list is the foundation of democracy, he said: “Do not lose your right to vote – because all your other rights depend on it.” The yatra seeks to ensure that electoral integrity is restored and people’s voices are heard.
