Odisha to Host Two-Day District Collector and SP Conference
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to review development schemes, law and order, and public grievance systems at the two-day collectors and SPs conference in Bhubaneswar.

The Odisha government has announced that a two-day conference for District Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) will be held on November 18 and 19 at the Lokseva Convention Center. Invitations have been sent to all Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors by the Department of General Administration and Public Grievances.
Purpose of the Conference
According to Devashish Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the department, the conference will focus on:

Effective implementation of central and state government schemes at the grassroots level.

Rabi paddy procurement and monitoring its progress.
-
Security measures post the New Delhi explosion.

Strengthening grievance redressal mechanisms at the district level.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will emphasize reaching government schemes to the grassroots level, ensuring timely grievance hearings, and reviewing the outcomes of previous assignments given to collectors and SPs.
Key Issues on the Agenda
The two-day conference will cover a wide range of administrative priorities, including:

Successful implementation of central and state schemes.

Maintaining a business-friendly environment.

Effective public grievance redressal and solution mechanisms.

Improving law and order, coastal security, and anti-Maoist operations.

Ensuring women’s safety through a zero-tolerance policy.

Addressing drug-related issues in the state.
The government has also planned discussions on infrastructure development, including daily provisions of roads, electricity, and drinking water in every village by 2027.
Conference Schedule and Dignitaries
The first day (Nov 18) will be dedicated to District Collectors, with a welcome address by Development Commissioner Anu Garg and briefings by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will deliver the keynote address and assign new tasks to collectors.
The second day (Nov 19) will focus on Superintendents of Police (SPs). Police DG Yogesh Bahadur Khurania will deliver the welcome address, followed by updates from Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja. The Chief Minister will provide guidance on law and order, anti-Maoist operations, coastal security, women’s safety, and zero-tolerance policies on drugs.
Closing and Social Engagements
Both days will conclude with a group photo of the Chief Minister with all District Collectors and SPs. In the evening, a dinner will be hosted for the participants, including the Chief Minister, cabinet ministers, secretaries, and senior officials, promoting networking and coordination among key administrative officers.
