Supply Remains Stable Amid Global Concerns
Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and concerns over a possible disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, authorities have clarified that there is no shortage of fuel in India. The supply of petrol and diesel continues uninterrupted across the country. However, precautionary measures have been introduced at fuel stations to regulate bulk purchases.

Restrictions Imposed at Fuel Stations in Bhubaneswar
Posters have been put up at several petrol pumps in Bhubaneswar, including outlets operated by Indian Oil Corporation and Bharat Petroleum, announcing limits on bulk fuel sales. The move is aimed at preventing panic buying and ensuring equitable distribution among consumers.

Limits on Petrol and Diesel Purchases
According to the notices, petrol pumps will not sell more than 50 litres of petrol to a customer in a single transaction. Similarly, restrictions have been imposed on diesel sales, with a cap of 500 litres of high-speed diesel per purchase. Any violation of these limits may lead to suspension of fuel supply to the concerned outlet.

Strict Monitoring of Fuel Sales
Fuel stations have been directed to strictly adhere to the prescribed limits. Daily sales data, especially bulk transactions, are being closely monitored by headquarters to ensure compliance and prevent hoarding.

Current Fuel Prices in Bhubaneswar
At present, petrol is being sold at ₹100.98 per litre in Bhubaneswar, while diesel is priced at ₹92.56 per litre.

Government Assures Adequate Availability
Officials from the Petroleum Ministry have reassured that there is no shortage of fuel in the country. Adequate crude oil imports have been secured for the next two months, ensuring stability in supply. LPG and PNG availability also remains normal.

Price Review Every 15 Days
Authorities have stated that fuel prices will be reviewed every 15 days, considering fluctuations in global crude oil markets. Despite rising international prices due to geopolitical tensions, the government has taken steps such as reducing excise duty to protect consumers from price hikes.

No Price Increase Since 2022
Officials also highlighted that petrol and diesel prices have remained unchanged since April 2022. Additionally, over 10,000 new LPG connections are being provided daily, reflecting continued efforts to maintain energy accessibility across the country.
