As the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections approach, pre-poll surveys indicate a close contest for the chief minister’s chair. The race between NDA’s Nitish Kumar and INDIA bloc’s Tejashwi Yadav appears evenly poised, reflecting a public mood that is almost evenly divided.

SPICK Survey Favors Tejashwi

The SPICK Media Network survey surprises the ruling alliance by placing Tejashwi Yadav in the lead with 30.5% of votes, while Nitish Kumar follows at 27.4%. Other contenders include Prashant Kishor (13%) and Chirag Paswan (12%). Despite this, 30.6% of respondents still support an NDA return under Nitish, showing his enduring influence in the alliance.

JVC Poll Leans Towards Nitish

In contrast, the JVC opinion poll positions Nitish Kumar slightly ahead with 27%, with Tejashwi at 25%. Other leaders in the fray include Prashant Kishor (15%), Chirag Paswan (11%), and Samrat Choudhary (8%). The contradictory findings reflect Bihar’s deeply divided electorate, where loyalties and governance assessments remain split, often along caste lines.

Campaign Promises Intensify the Battle

Both alliances are pulling out all stops to secure votes. Nitish Kumar emphasizes his legacy promises, including free electricity up to 125 units and increased social security pensions. Analysts caution, however, that poll predictions may not fully capture the ground reality.

Voter Decision Will Shape Bihar’s Future

With NDA and INDIA alliances locked in a tight race, the decision ultimately rests with Bihar’s voters, who will determine the state’s political trajectory in the coming term.
