Board of Revenue Enters New Digital Era with Website and Quarterly Journal

The Board of Revenue, Odisha has taken a major step towards making revenue administration more transparent, accessible and citizen-centric with the launch of its new website and quarterly journal.

Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari formally launched both initiatives in the presence of Board of Revenue Member Satyabrata Sahu, Secretary Laxmikant Sethi, senior revenue officials and representatives from various departments.

Speaking at the event, Pujari said the initiatives mark a new chapter in integrating technology, information and judicial knowledge into revenue administration. He highlighted the Board’s longstanding role in matters related to land, land records, revenue laws and land disputes.

The Minister stressed the need to strengthen the Board’s infrastructure and manpower to ensure faster disposal of revenue-related cases. He also appreciated the Board for its recent efforts towards expediting case disposal and for decisions related to the protection and restoration of land assets of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath.

The new website provides organised digital access to information about the Board’s various branches and activities. It also includes information on major revenue institutions, including the Commissioner of Land Reforms, Commissioner of Land Records and Settlement, Commissioner of Consolidation and Inspector General of Registration.

Meanwhile, the quarterly journal will feature important orders and decisions concerning land disputes, land records, mutation, title, possession, leases, government land and other complex revenue matters.

The Board said around 11,000 cases have been disposed of by 41 Revisional Courts in the last eight months. The increased pace of disposal prompted the shift from an annual publication to a quarterly journal.

The journal is expected to serve as a reference for Tahasildars, Additional Tahasildars, Sub-Collectors and other revenue officials, promoting consistency and transparency in decision-making.

New Revenue Revisional Courts are also expected to be inaugurated shortly in Jajpur, Kendrapara, Bargarh and other districts.
