Golmaal 5 Release Date Announced: Rohit Shetty’s Comedy Franchise Returns in 2027

Fans of the popular Golmaal franchise have been waiting for years for the fifth instalment of the comedy series. The wait is finally over, as the makers have announced the release date of Golmaal 5.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, Golmaal 5 is set to hit theatres on January 8, 2027. Actor Tusshar Kapoor shared the release date on his Instagram account, officially confirming the return of the much-loved comedy franchise.

Golmaal Franchise Began in 2006

The Golmaal franchise began in 2006 with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited. The film, made on a reported budget of around ₹15 crore, performed well at the box office and earned approximately ₹41–46 crore.

The success of the first film led to the second instalment, Golmaal Returns, which was released in 2008. Made on a budget of around ₹35 crore, the film reportedly collected nearly ₹80 crore at the box office.

The third instalment, Golmaal 3, arrived in 2010. With a reported budget of ₹50 crore, the film went on to earn around ₹169.5 crore. It also emerged as the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of the year.

Golmaal Again Became a Major Box Office Success

The fourth film in the franchise, Golmaal Again, was released in 2017. The film had a reported budget of around ₹80 crore and went on to collect approximately ₹311 crore at the box office.

With four successful films already released, expectations are high for the fifth instalment. Rohit Shetty has continued to build his reputation for comedy and commercial entertainers, and Golmaal 5 is expected to carry forward the franchise’s signature humour and ensemble style.

The fifth film will arrive nearly a decade after Golmaal Again, making its 2027 theatrical release particularly significant for fans of the series.

With the release date now officially announced, audiences can look forward to the return of the Golmaal gang on the big screen on January 8, 2027.
