Before marrying Gautam, she was married to Dr Jaspreet Singh Chandok. The couple separated in 2012. Kanika has three children from her first marriage — Ayana, Samara and Yuvraj.

Kanika rose to fame with the popular Bollywood song ‘Baby Doll’, which became a major hit and established her as a well-known playback singer.
