LPG, Petrol and Diesel Supply Adequate in Odisha: Chief Secretary Reviews Situation

Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg on Tuesday reviewed the availability and supply situation of cooking gas (LPG), petrol and diesel in the state during a high-level meeting held at the conference hall of Lok Seva Bhavan.
The meeting was attended by Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, along with officials from major oil marketing companies including IOCL, HPCL and BPCL.
Adequate LPG and Fuel Supply in the State
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary informed that sufficient stock of LPG is available in the state and advised the public not to worry about the availability of cooking gas. Officials from oil companies also confirmed that there is no shortage of LPG, petrol or diesel for consumers.
Review of Distribution and Supply Chain
The meeting reviewed the distribution process and supply chain system, including the movement of LPG from refineries and depots to distributors and retail outlets. Detailed discussions were held to ensure that the supply chain remains smooth and uninterrupted across the state.
No Supply Issues for Institutions
Officials also informed that educational institutions and hospitals are receiving adequate LPG supplies, and there are no disruptions in fuel distribution for essential services.
Instructions to Maintain Supply Balance
Chief Secretary Anu Garg directed oil marketing companies to maintain a balanced supply chain to ensure the smooth availability of cooking gas and fuel across Odisha.
Regular Public Information to be Issued
The Chief Secretary also instructed the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department and oil companies to regularly issue updates through various communication channels regarding the availability of LPG, petrol and diesel to prevent misinformation and public concern.
Daily Supply Report to State Government
Oil companies have also been directed to share daily reports with the state’s Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department regarding the supply status of LPG and fuel in Odisha. These reports will be similar to the data already being submitted to the Central Government.
