Nayara Energy Hikes Petrol and Diesel Prices Again From October 3

Nayara Energy Raises Petrol by ₹5 and Diesel by ₹3 Per Litre; Revised Rates Effective From October 3

Private fuel retailer Nayara Energy has once again increased the prices of petrol and diesel, with the revised rates coming into effect from October 3, 2026.

The company has raised the price of petrol by ₹5 per litre and diesel by ₹3 per litre. Following the revision, petrol will be available at ₹100.71 per litre, while diesel will cost ₹91.31 per litre.

However, the final retail price paid by consumers may vary from state to state due to differences in VAT, local taxes and other applicable charges.

International Oil Prices Behind the Hike

The latest price revision comes amid volatility in global energy markets and rising prices of crude oil and refined petroleum products.

Higher international crude prices can increase refining and fuel procurement costs for oil marketing companies. Since India imports a significant share of its crude oil requirements, fluctuations in global crude prices can have an impact on domestic fuel pricing.

Nayara Energy’s latest revision is being viewed in the context of the widening gap between international fuel costs and domestic retail prices.

Earlier Price Revision

Nayara Energy had previously increased petrol prices by ₹5 per litre and diesel prices by ₹3 per litre in March 2026.

Later, after international crude oil prices declined, the company reduced petrol and diesel prices by ₹5 and ₹3 per litre respectively on July 1.

The latest increase marks another revision in the company’s retail fuel prices amid changing global oil market conditions.

Government Oil Companies Keep Rates Unchanged

While Nayara Energy has increased its petrol and diesel prices, retail rates offered by state-owned oil marketing companies have remained unchanged at this time.

The difference highlights variations in pricing decisions between private and government-owned fuel retailers amid fluctuations in international crude oil prices.

Transport Costs May Rise

The impact of the fuel price increase may extend beyond vehicle owners. A rise in diesel prices can increase operating costs for transport and logistics companies, particularly those dependent on diesel-powered commercial vehicles.

Higher transportation costs could also affect freight rates and, in some cases, add to the cost of goods transported over long distances.

Consumers in different states, however, will see different final pump prices depending on applicable taxes and local charges.
