Odisha Approves ₹3,793 Crore Investment Proposals, Nearly 20,000 Jobs to Be Created
24 industrial projects worth ₹3,793 crore approved by SLSWCA; investments across 14 districts expected to create nearly 20,000 jobs in textiles, green energy, tourism and manufacturing sectors.
Major Boost for Industrial Growth and Employment in Odisha
In a significant boost to Odisha’s industrial development and employment generation efforts, the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) has approved 24 major industrial investment proposals worth ₹3,793.33 crore. The projects received clearance during the 147th meeting of the SLSWCA chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg.
The approved projects are expected to attract investments of nearly ₹3,800 crore and generate employment opportunities for approximately 19,924 people across the state. The move is expected to strengthen Odisha’s economy while addressing unemployment through large-scale industrial expansion.
Balanced Industrial Development Across 14 Districts
The approved projects will be spread across 14 districts, ensuring balanced regional development. The districts include Khordha, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Jajpur, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Balangir, Puri, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, and Mayurbhanj.
The investments cover diverse sectors such as steel, green energy, textiles and garments, tourism, food processing, hospitality, and electric vehicle manufacturing.
Textile and Garment Sector Emerges as Largest Job Creator
The textile and apparel sector is set to become the biggest contributor to employment generation among the newly approved projects.
Nandaraj Textiles Pvt. Ltd.
The company will establish a textile manufacturing unit in Khordha with an investment of ₹168.64 crore. The project is expected to create 10,306 jobs, making it the single largest employment-generating project among the approved proposals.
Shahi Exports
Shahi Exports will invest ₹145.50 crore to set up a garment manufacturing unit in Sambalpur, generating employment for 1,840 people.
Maa Taratarini Textile Park
An integrated textile project worth ₹70 crore will be established in Ganjam, creating around 350 jobs.
Green Energy and Advanced Technology Projects Get Major Push
Odisha’s push towards sustainable and technology-driven industrialization received a boost with several high-value green energy and advanced manufacturing projects.
CESC Green Power
The company will invest ₹683.83 crore in Dhenkanal to establish a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), supporting the state’s clean energy goals.
AVP Star Private Limited
A state-of-the-art lab-grown diamond manufacturing facility will be set up in Khordha with an investment of ₹500 crore. The project is expected to generate employment for 500 people.
Tourism and Hospitality Sector Receives Significant Investment
Several premium hospitality projects have been approved to strengthen Odisha’s tourism infrastructure and attract more visitors.
Swosti Premium Limited
The company will develop a five-star resort in Koraput with an investment of ₹250 crore, creating 480 employment opportunities.
SNM Hotels
A luxury resort project worth ₹133.34 crore has been approved in Koraput.
Shree Eco Resort
An eco-resort and water amusement park will be developed in Keonjhar with an investment of ₹105.60 crore.
Apart from these, new hotels and resorts will also come up in Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, and Mayurbhanj, further boosting tourism potential in the state.
Manufacturing and Industrial Expansion Gather Momentum
JSW Severfield Structures
The company will establish a steel fabrication unit in Jajpur with an investment of ₹215 crore, creating 1,400 jobs.
Koshal Ceramics
Koshal Ceramics will invest ₹275.07 crore to expand its brick manufacturing facility in Jharsuguda, generating employment for 1,000 people.
Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages
The beverage giant will invest ₹300 crore to expand its soft drink manufacturing plant in Khordha, creating 990 new jobs.
Lithros Batteries
A new electric vehicle and battery manufacturing unit will be established in Khordha with an investment of ₹60 crore, supporting Odisha’s emerging EV ecosystem.
Focus on ‘Samruddha Odisha 2036’ Vision
The Odisha government has been actively promoting investment through its single-window clearance system, which enables investors to obtain approvals in a time-bound manner.
The newly approved projects align with the state’s long-term vision of “Samruddha Odisha 2036,” with a strong emphasis on employment-intensive and environmentally sustainable industrial development. Officials believe these investments will play a crucial role in transforming Odisha into one of eastern India’s leading industrial and investment destinations in the coming years.
