He also dedicated 12 modern playgrounds to the public and laid the foundation stone for an affordable rental housing project under the PMAY-Urban BANDHU scheme.
The Chief Minister said the state government was committed to providing permanent houses to all sections of society, ensuring security and dignity for every family.
Two Housing Projects Inaugurated
The Chief Minister inaugurated Neelakantheswar Niwas at Ghatikia and Mukteswar Residency at Gadakana.
The Gadakana project, built on more than six acres at a cost of approximately Rs 95 crore, comprises 680 housing units. The Ghatikia project, spread across over five acres, has 928 units and was constructed at a cost of Rs 66.48 crore.
Additionally, 962 families were facilitated with housewarming ceremonies at Buddha Vihar, Nilamadhab, Subudhipur and Shantipalli. Majhi handed over housing allotments to selected beneficiaries and distributed bank loan assistance to help eligible families purchase homes.

Focus on Affordable Housing
Majhi said housing was one of the most essential needs after food. He highlighted the provision of basic amenities, including toilets, piped drinking water, electricity and cooking gas, alongside housing support.
According to the Chief Minister, more than two lakh houses have been sanctioned for Odisha under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban. The state government also plans to provide around five lakh houses under the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana.

Rental Housing and Modern Playgrounds
The foundation stone for an affordable rental housing project at Gadakana was laid under PMAY-Urban BANDHU. The scheme aims to provide affordable accommodation near workplaces for migrant workers and low-income families.
Majhi also dedicated 12 modern playgrounds developed by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority to promote sports among children and encourage fitness among senior citizens.
Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra said the projects would provide slum residents with permanent homes, a proper address and greater social dignity. Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das and other public representatives attended the programme.
