The key programmes of the UAE investment mission are scheduled from September 9 to 11, while the Chief Minister is scheduled to return to India on September 12. The visit aims to strengthen Odisha’s economic engagement with the UAE and explore investment opportunities in manufacturing, infrastructure, energy and emerging industries.

A high-level delegation led by Chief Minister Majhi includes State Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and senior officials from the Industries Department and IPICOL.

The delegation was welcomed in Abu Dhabi by Industries Department Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma, officials and representatives based in the UAE. Representatives of the Indian Embassy in the UAE also welcomed the delegation.

Soon after his arrival, Chief Minister Majhi reviewed preparations for key business and investor meetings scheduled during his Abu Dhabi visit. He assessed arrangements to ensure productive discussions with UAE-based investors, institutions and industry leaders.

During the visit, the Chief Minister also met the Indian Ambassador to the UAE and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations, particularly growing economic and people-to-people ties between India and the UAE.

Majhi also highlighted the role of the Odia community living and working in the UAE, describing them as an important bridge between Odisha and the UAE. He stressed the need to ensure continued support, facilities and ease of living for Odias residing in the UAE.

Focus on Investment and Long-Term Partnerships

Through the Abu Dhabi programme, the Odisha delegation will hold direct discussions with leading UAE institutions, investors and business groups. The objective is not limited to attracting investments but also to identify opportunities for specific projects, technology partnerships and long-term industrial collaborations in Odisha.

During the visit, the Chief Minister is expected to highlight Odisha’s natural resources, industrial infrastructure, ports, affordable power supply, skilled workforce and connectivity with Indian and international markets.

Ahead of the investor meetings, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said Odisha had entered a new phase of industrial development and described engagement with the UAE as an important part of this journey.

He said the state was looking beyond investment proposals and seeking long-term partnerships based on trust, technology, value addition and employment generation. He also described the UAE as an important global economic partner and expressed optimism about further strengthening Odisha-UAE ties through targeted investment and industrial opportunities.

The Chief Minister said the state government’s key objective was to convert investor interest into actual projects, create employment opportunities and establish Odisha as an attractive and competitive destination for global businesses.

High-Level Business Meetings on September 9

The Odisha-UAE investment campaign will formally begin in Abu Dhabi on September 9 with a series of high-level business meetings involving UAE institutions, investors and business leaders.

The schedule includes discussions with International Holding Company (IHC) and its various business divisions, the Indian Business and Professional Group (IBPG), the UAE Minister of Investment and senior investors.

Further discussions will focus on the petrochemical and chemical sectors. The meetings are expected to provide a platform to explore specific investment opportunities, industrial partnerships, technology cooperation and ways to strengthen Odisha-UAE economic ties.

The investment outreach is an important step in Odisha’s efforts to build stronger economic relations with the UAE and the wider MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.

The state government aims to convert investor interest into tangible outcomes, boost industrial development, generate employment and support long-term economic growth through stronger investment, technology, trade and industrial partnerships with the UAE.

The high-level business and institutional engagements will continue from September 9, with the Odisha delegation seeking to identify new opportunities and deepen cooperation with the UAE across multiple sectors.
