Odisha Fintech Student Team Presents Innovative SME Finance Solution at Global Forum in Tokyo

Students from Odisha who recently represented the state at the Tokyo Global Financial Forum met Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj during a courtesy visit on Friday. The minister congratulated the students for their impressive performance on the international stage and praised their innovative ideas in the field of financial technology.

Minister Applauds Students’ Global Achievement

Commending the students, the minister said their participation and success at the international forum had brought pride to Odisha. According to him, students are going beyond academic learning and using their creativity to address real-world challenges through innovative solutions.

He noted that the project presented by the students reflected the growing potential of young innovators in Odisha and demonstrated how higher education can contribute to technological and entrepreneurial development.

Fintech Certification Programme Behind the Success

The achievement is part of a Fintech and Insurtech Certification Programme launched by the Government of Odisha in collaboration with the National University of Singapore – Asian Institute of Digital Finance and the Global Finance & Technology Network.

Under the programme, around 195 students from various colleges and universities in the state worked on innovative capstone projects focused on financial technology and insurance technology solutions.

Team from Odisha Presents Fintech Innovation

A seven-member team that secured the top position in the programme was selected to present its project at the Tokyo Global Financial Forum. The team included students from leading institutions such as Ravenshaw University, Utkal University, and Salepur Autonomous College.

The students presented their fintech project titled “TranchiFy – A Trust-Based Working Capital Platform for Next-Generation SMEs.” The solution aims to simplify and digitise the process through which small and medium enterprises can access working capital and obtain bank loans more efficiently.

Students Credit Programme for Global Exposure

The students expressed happiness over the opportunity to present their innovation at an international platform. They said the certification programme helped them gain valuable exposure to entrepreneurship, innovation and skill development in finance and technology.

Officials also confirmed that the second phase of the Fintech and Insurtech Certification Programme will begin soon, with the application process already underway for interested students across Odisha.
