The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) will no longer be held on the same day as the RI and Amin examinations. The confusion over two major exams being conducted on a single day has been resolved after the OTET examination was postponed.

The OTET exam, which was earlier scheduled for June 28, will now be conducted on July 5. The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has announced the revised schedule after discussions with the School and Mass Education Department.

The RI and Amin examinations will be conducted as per the earlier schedule on Sunday, June 28. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari informed that the decision was taken to avoid inconvenience for candidates appearing for both examinations.

Earlier, the OTET exam was scheduled to be held on June 21, which was later shifted to June 28. However, as the RI and Amin exams were also scheduled on the same date, candidates raised concerns over the clash of examination schedules. Following this, the authorities decided to move the OTET exam to July 5.

The OTET Paper-I will be conducted from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, while Paper-II will be held from 2 PM to 4:30 PM on July 5.

The RI and Amin exams will proceed according to the previously announced schedule. Around 16,000 candidates are expected to appear for the RI and Amin examinations conducted by the Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC).

On Monday, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari had indicated that the government would review the situation to ensure that no candidate misses the opportunity to appear in the examinations. He said discussions would be held with OSSSC regarding the issue.

The much-awaited Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), while the RI and Amin recruitment examinations are conducted by OSSSC. The date clash had created dissatisfaction among candidates, but the government’s decision to reschedule OTET has brought relief to the aspirants.
