High Voter Turnout Key to BJP Success, Says PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a massive public rally in Krishnanagar in Nadia district, stated that history shows wherever voter turnout is high, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has achieved a strong majority. He expressed confidence that the party would secure a decisive victory in West Bengal.

Campaigning Amid Ongoing Voting Process
The rally came as voting continued for 152 seats in the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026. While voters queued up at polling stations, PM Modi focused on campaigning for the next phase, energising party supporters with his speech.

Confidence in Electoral Victory
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, the Prime Minister said he was confident of a “historic change” in West Bengal. He predicted that when results are declared on May 4, the entire state would celebrate a BJP victory, with sweets and traditional snacks like jhalmuri distributed during the celebrations.

Attack on Trinamool Congress Government
PM Modi launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government led by Mamata Banerjee. He alleged that a syndicate involving TMC leaders, ministers, and local officials had exploited the people of the state. He further claimed that public anger against the ruling party was so strong that it may struggle to even open its account in several districts.

‘Fight Against Misrule,’ Says PM
The Prime Minister said that people of Bengal were already fighting against what he called “misrule” and were determined to bring change. He added that voters were now focused on ending fear and bringing development to the state.

Focus on Women’s Safety and Rights
In the concluding part of his speech, PM Modi raised concerns over women’s safety, accusing the TMC government of failing to protect women and ensure equal political participation. He said that women in Bengal had suffered the most under what he described as “jungle raj” and alleged that the ruling party had opposed measures like the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament.

Call for BJP Victory
Ending his address, PM Modi urged voters to press the lotus symbol on the voting machine, expressing confidence that the BJP would emerge victorious and bring development and change to West Bengal.
