The high-level meeting on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the upcoming jewelry counting at the Srimandir concluded today. The Chief Administrator of Srimandir reviewed all preparatory measures ahead of the counting, scheduled to commence on March 25, 2026, during the auspicious time of 12:09 PM to 1:45 PM.

Structured Teams and SOP Guidelines

Two specialized teams have been formed for the exercise: a Supervising Team and a Handling Team. The teams will work in coordination with the temple treasury staff to ensure an orderly and secure counting process. All procedures will be videographed for transparency. The counting will follow a sequence—starting with the outer treasury, followed by intermediate sections, and concluding with the inner treasury.

Gold, Silver, and Precious Stones Categorized

According to the SOP, gold ornaments will be placed on yellow cloth, silver on white cloth, and other ornaments on designated colored cloths for organized counting. Separate lists, including the 1978 inventory, will be reconciled during the process. Gold and other items have already been officially recorded by the state government and the Reserve Bank of India. The counting will be limited to quantity and type; no valuation will be conducted.

Security and Public Access Measures

On counting days, special arrangements will ensure the safety of students, laborers, and visitors. Saturdays, Sundays, and other designated holidays will see a suspension of public or labor activity inside the temple premises. Devotees will be able to observe the counting from outside designated areas.

Oversight and Coordination

The process is being overseen by Justice Bishwanath Rath, Chairperson of the Srimandir Treasury Committee, along with the Chief Administrator, SP, administrative staff, and temple officials. Training sessions have been conducted to ensure smooth execution in line with the SOP approved by the state government.

The meticulous planning and strict adherence to SOPs underscore the temple administration’s commitment to transparency, security, and organized management of Srimandir’s valuable treasury.
