Odisha is expected to witness more Kalbaisakhi showers as the state continues to experience strong pre-monsoon weather activity. For several days, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds has disrupted normal life, causing damage to trees, crops, and vegetables in many areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning predicting further thunderstorms and rainfall across the state. According to the forecast, the impact of a cyclonic circulation and a trough line is likely to trigger intense weather conditions, including heavy rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds in multiple regions.

A yellow warning has been issued for 16 districts, indicating the possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. The authorities have also advised fishermen not to venture into the sea due to rough weather conditions and safety concerns.

The IMD has further stated that the unstable weather pattern may continue for the next three days. During this period, several parts of the state may experience thunderstorms, strong winds, and occasional hailstorms. Wind speeds could reach between 50 to 60 km per hour, posing risks to life and property.

The recent weather has already caused disruptions in several locations, with uprooted trees and damaged crops reported. Farmers are particularly concerned as standing crops and harvested produce have been affected by the strong winds and rainfall.

Authorities have urged people to remain cautious during thunderstorms, avoid open areas, and follow safety guidelines issued by disaster management officials. The public is advised to stay indoors during lightning activity and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents.

With the continuation of this unstable weather system, Odisha is likely to witness more rain and storm activity in the coming days.
