PM Modi highlights India’s defence achievements, C-295 aircraft production and naval expansion during the 135th Mann Ki Baat address
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation through the 135th episode of Mann Ki Baat, highlighting India’s achievements in various sectors, including defence, technology, yoga and social development. The Prime Minister said that the last six months have witnessed several milestones that every citizen should feel proud of.
During the monthly radio programme on the last Sunday of June, PM Modi emphasized India’s growing strength in indigenous technology and defence manufacturing. He said that the country’s defence capabilities have expanded significantly due to the promotion of domestic production.
India’s Defence Strength Growing Through Indigenous Technology
PM Modi said India has made remarkable progress in strengthening its security infrastructure. He mentioned that indigenous defence production has increased the capabilities of the armed forces and enhanced national security.
Highlighting recent developments, he said India has successfully manufactured the C-295 aircraft, describing it as a major achievement under the Make in India initiative.
According to the Prime Minister, the aircraft represents more than just a machine; it reflects India’s technological capabilities, confidence and growing self-reliance.
He also mentioned that around 40 C-295 aircraft are being manufactured in India, marking a significant step forward in the country’s aerospace sector.
New Naval Ships Strengthen Maritime Security
During the programme, PM Modi also spoke about the induction of three new naval vessels into the Indian Navy.
He recalled his participation in a naval programme in Kolkata, where INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak and INS Agraay were inducted into the Navy fleet.
The Prime Minister said these developments show India’s growing capability to protect its maritime interests and strengthen security from the sea to the skies.
India Showcasing Its Confidence Globally
Apart from defence, PM Modi also spoke about achievements in other fields, including yoga, employment and social initiatives.
He said India has demonstrated its ability and confidence on the global stage, adding that the country achieved several successes in June.
He also highlighted India’s performance in international yoga competitions and said such achievements reflect the country’s growing influence worldwide.
PM Modi noted that 2026 has reached its halfway mark and the past six months have been a period of progress and achievements for the nation.
Through Mann Ki Baat, he urged citizens to take pride in India’s development journey and continue contributing towards building a stronger and self-reliant nation.
