XIMB Concludes 8th Business Excellence Summit 2026

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) successfully concluded the 8th edition of the Business Excellence Summit (BES) 2026, bringing together industry leaders, faculty members, students and alumni to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping resilient and sustainable businesses.

Held under the theme “Building Resilient Businesses – Navigating Risk to Shape a Sustainable Future,” the two-day summit focused on resilience, leadership, technology, artificial intelligence, ESG, sustainability and risk management.

The summit began with a lamp-lighting ceremony and an inaugural address by Dr. Biswa Swarup Misra. Dr. Fr. K.S. Casimir, S.J., delivered the theme address, emphasising openness, collaboration and the importance of the human element in building resilient organisations. The event also witnessed the launch of Echoes, the BES magazine, and Unnayan, the alumni magazine.

Industry Leaders Share Insights on Resilience

The Day 1 keynote address was delivered by Mr. Sandeep Bagla, CEO of TRUST Mutual Fund. He introduced the 4A Framework — Anticipate, Absorb, Adapt and Accelerate, highlighting the importance of artificial intelligence, accountability, digital infrastructure and responsible leadership.

Panel discussions on “Leadership – Leading for the Long Run” and “Technology – Build to Bend, Not to Break” brought together industry experts including Srinivas Baratam, Jaydeep Chakraborty, Sushant Dwivedy, Bivas Mishra, Gaurav Chawla and Jayati Dwivedy. Discussions focused on resilient leadership, technological transformation, AI, governance and sustainable value creation.

Day 2 featured a keynote by Himanshu Routray, Director, JLL India and an XIMB alumnus. He spoke about embracing uncertainty, effective risk management, AI, networking, collaboration, continuous upskilling, compliance, quality and ethics as key elements of resilient careers.

The panel discussion on “ESG – Resilience by Design”, moderated by Prof. S.S. Ganesh, featured Priyanka Ghosh, Debasmit Mohanty and Sambitosh Mohapatra. The speakers discussed adaptability, governance, stakeholder management, ESG, technology and sustainability.

The concluding panel, “Risk Management Built for the Bad Day,” was moderated by Dr. Ritesh Kumar Dubey and featured Kiran Rana and Chittaranjan Mohanty. The session explored risk assessment, technological disruption, AI, adaptability and the continuing importance of human judgement.

Interactive Q&A sessions across the two days allowed students to engage with speakers on AI, innovation, entrepreneurship, ethics, career choices, ESG, uncertainty and risk management.

The summit concluded with the felicitation of the dignitaries. BES 2026 reinforced the importance of building organisations that are adaptable, responsible and resilient in an increasingly uncertain business environment.
