Western Disturbance Brings Snowfall to Dhauladhar Range in Himachal Pradesh

A Western Disturbance that became active in Himachal Pradesh during the last week of September has brought a noticeable change in weather conditions, with snowfall reported over the higher reaches of the Dhauladhar mountain range in Kangra district.

The snowfall has covered the upper peaks of the Dhauladhar range with a fresh layer of snow. This is reportedly the second snowfall event over the higher reaches of the mountain range in September.

The Dhauladhar peaks had remained covered by dense clouds for the past few days as the weather system affected the region. Subsequently, snowfall began in areas located at higher elevations, giving the mountain range a winter-like appearance.

Following the snowfall, temperatures have dropped in parts of Kangra district. The fall in temperature has brought increased chill to the region, with residents seen wearing warmer clothes as weather conditions turn colder.
