Odisha’s Minister for Law, Works, and Pensions, Prithviraj Harichandan, conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing MLA Residential Complex in Bhubaneswar. The review aimed to assess construction progress and ensure timely completion of the project by June 30, 2026.
Project Overview and Capacity
The MLA Residential Complex consists of six towers with a total of 300 flats. Of these, 105 are Type-7 units, while 195 are Type-6 units. The residential facility will accommodate 130 MLAs and 170 senior government officials, providing modern housing for legislators and administrative officers.
The project also includes a 50-room club house for visitors and officials, enhancing amenities for residents and guests.
Green and Sustainable Design
The complex is being developed with a focus on environmental sustainability. Large trees and greenery will transform the surrounding area into a verdant zone. Separate arrangements have been made for groundwater conservation and a sewage treatment plant, ensuring eco-friendly water and sanitation management.
The integration of green spaces aims to create a healthy and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents.
Administrative Oversight
During the inspection, Minister Harichandan directed senior officials and contractors to expedite construction while maintaining quality standards. Key attendees included MLA Babu Singh, Principal Secretary of the Works Department Sanjay Kumar Singh, OBCC Managing Director Anupam Saha, and other departmental and contractor representatives.
Completion Timeline
The minister emphasized the importance of completing all construction work by June 30, 2026. He instructed teams to fast-track pending activities and ensure that all facilities, including the club house, green zones, and water management systems, are operational by the deadline.

The residential complex will provide legislators and senior officials with modern, well-equipped living spaces while promoting sustainability. This initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to improving the living standards of public representatives and supporting infrastructure development in Bhubaneswar.
