World Autism Day Celebrated with Aid Distribution in Nayagarh

Around 100 Differently-Abled Beneficiaries Receive Aids at Ranpur Event

Support for Differently-Abled Marked by Inclusive Initiative

On the occasion of World Autism Day, a special awareness and aid distribution program was organized at Kalyan Mandap in Ranpur NAC of Nayagarh district. The event was jointly conducted by Abhisht Charitable Trust, Mahaveer Bikalanga Sahayata Samiti, and Odisha Special Educators Federation for Divyang Sangha.

Awareness on Autism and Its Challenges

Founder of Abhisht Charitable Trust, Eli Padhi Jain, highlighted that autism is a neurological developmental disorder that affects social interaction, communication, and behavior. She elaborated on early diagnosis, awareness, and the importance of inclusive education and care for individuals with autism.

Distribution of Assistive Devices

As part of the initiative, essential assistive devices were distributed among differently-abled individuals. Around 100 beneficiaries received support, including:

  • 36 wheelchairs
  • 23 hearing aids
  • Walking sticks and special educational materials for nearly 30 students

The initiative aimed to improve mobility, communication, and overall quality of life for the beneficiaries.

Participation of Local Leaders and Officials

The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Ranpur NAC Chairperson Rangin Mohanty, BDO Manoj Kumar Nayak, Tehsildar Arya Kumar Sarbadaman, and other officials and social workers. Their participation emphasized the importance of collective efforts in supporting the differently-abled community.

Supervision and Public Appreciation

The program was conducted under the supervision of Surma Padhi, Speaker of the Odisha Assembly and MLA from Ranpur. The initiative received widespread appreciation from the public, educators, intellectuals, and guardians for its impactful contribution toward empowerment and inclusion.

Promoting Inclusion and Social Responsibility

The event not only provided essential aids but also spread awareness about autism and the need for early intervention, care, and societal support. It highlighted the importance of collaboration between organizations and government bodies in building an inclusive society.
