Gold prices have continued to decline for the past seven days, bringing relief to customers who had been struggling with soaring prices. The fall has also renewed interest in gold jewellery purchases, particularly ahead of weddings and other auspicious occasions.

According to market data, the price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹15,666 per gram on September 4, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹14,360 per gram. On September 5, 24-carat gold fell to ₹15,480 and 22-carat gold to ₹14,190 per gram.

As of yesterday, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹15,415 per gram, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹14,130 per gram.

Market fluctuations, changes in currency values against the US dollar and developments in the international market are among the key factors influencing gold prices. Traders also point to global uncertainty, including tensions between the United States and Iran, as a factor affecting market movements.

Gold prices had surged sharply in recent weeks, putting significant pressure on household budgets. For many families, purchasing gold remains important during weddings and ceremonies such as Brataghara.

The recent decline has therefore provided some relief to consumers, with jewellery shops witnessing renewed interest from buyers.

However, uncertainty remains over the future direction of gold prices. While customers are hopeful that prices will fall further, market watchers are keeping a close eye on global developments and currency movements.
