Russian Woman’s Shocking Ordeal: Husband Fakes Death, Leaves Her Trapped in India

Olga, a Russian national, arrived in India in 2015 to pursue her PhD at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. Excited about her academic journey and cultural exchange, she built a life around her studies and new relationships.

In 2018, she met an Indian man who would later become her husband. The couple married in 2019, marking what Olga believed was the beginning of a stable and loving partnership.

Marriage Turns Turbulent

According to Olga, the marriage soon began to deteriorate. She claims her husband left her in financial difficulty and failed to support her during visa-related complications.

The situation escalated in November 2023 when Olga applied for a spouse visa. Her husband was required to attend an official interview but did not appear. By January 2024, he had reportedly disappeared without a trace.

Fearing the worst, Olga filed a missing person complaint and spent six months working with local police while battling mounting debts and visa uncertainty. Friends offered support, but her unresolved immigration status prevented her from returning to Russia.

The Instagram Revelation

In a dramatic twist, Olga says she discovered her husband alive in a Japanese tourist’s Instagram photo. He was allegedly seen in Himachal Pradesh, dressed as a sadhu and guiding tourists.

“It broke my heart to know he was alive and doing well, knowing how much pain he caused,” Olga said.

The discovery shattered months of anxiety and grief, replacing it with feelings of betrayal.

Apology and a Second Chance

Months later, the husband reportedly contacted Olga, apologized, and sought reconciliation. Hoping to rebuild her life, Olga forgave him.

Now stranded, Olga says she is seeking legal intervention to clear her name and regain her freedom to travel.

“I came to India for love. I never thought that same love would put me in jail,” she said, expressing deep despair over her situation.
