Odisha girls score perfect 500 in CBSE Class 10 as female students outperform boys again in 2026 results
Outstanding Performance by Odisha Toppers
In a remarkable achievement, two students from Odisha—Tina Rath and Alisha Biswal—have secured a perfect score of 500 out of 500 in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 examination 2026, emerging as toppers.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated the two achievers and praised their exceptional performance. In his message, he highlighted that the success of these students reflects the true spirit of women empowerment and showcases the immense potential of Odisha’s daughters when given the right opportunities. He also extended his best wishes to all successful students for a bright future.
Girls Continue to Outperform Boys
This year, girls have once again outperformed boys in the CBSE Class 10 results. In Odisha, the pass percentage for girls stood at 94.83%, higher than boys at 92.60%, continuing the trend of better performance by female students.
Overall Pass Percentage Sees Improvement
At the national level, the overall pass percentage for CBSE Class 10 stood at 93.70%, reflecting a slight increase of 0.04% compared to the previous year. More than 24.83 lakh students had registered for the examination, out of which over 23.16 lakh students successfully passed.
Strong Performance in Odisha
In Odisha, around 65,204 students from 741 schools registered for the examination. Out of them, approximately 64,900 students appeared, and 60,788 students passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 93.66%.
Government schools recorded a pass percentage of 94.24%, while private schools reported 92.38%, showing strong performance across both sectors.
CBSE Introduces Second Board Exam Option
The CBSE has begun the form fill-up process for the second board examination. Students can apply until April 20, with a late fee option available on April 21 and 22.
This year, CBSE is conducting two board examinations. Students who wish to improve their scores can appear for the second exam, though it is not mandatory. They can choose any three subjects from Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and a language paper.
The second board examination is expected to be held in May, giving students an additional opportunity to improve their results.
